Bali is home to some of the most beautifully unique accommodations and being a photographer I wanted to see as many as I could. We spent 6 weeks exploring everything Bali has to offer and stayed in some pretty awesome places.
When we first started to book our accommodations in Bali we thought we were coming over for a long overdue 5 week holiday so naturally we booked some fancier, more expensive places. Once we made the decision to travel more long term we started to stick to a tighter budget. Here is a list of some of my favourites.
For photography:
I would have to say that my favourite place we have stayed from a photography point of view would have to be Zen Hideaway. This spacious treehouse style villa was nestled on the side of a mountain and overlooked a beautiful river. I was so inspired by the raw beauty of the place and we captured so many beautiful shots here.
For Luxury:
As far as luxury goes you can’t go past Munduk Moding in the north of Bali. From the moment you arrive the amazing staff collect you and your belongings on a golf cart and take you to your private villa. The place is famous for its infinity pool that makes it look like you are floating in the clouds and its famous sunsets. Our private villa had its own infinity pool with the same views and it was as breathtaking in real life.
For uniqueness:
Hands down the most unique place we stayed was Mara River Lodge at Bali Safari. Honestly from the moment we arrived it was like we had been transported to Africa. Our room overlooked a paddock filled with Rhino’s, Zebra’s, Giraffe and wildebeest. Each morning you got a bucket filled with carrots to feed the animals right from your balcony. From their infinity pool surrounded by zebras to eating your meals surrounded by lions this place is incredible for all animal lovers, especially children.
Here is a full list of all the places we stayed. Please keep in mind this is just where we stayed, I am not saying they are all great. We learnt a lot during our time in Bali, things we initially thought were a good deal were not such a great deal. Drop us a comment below if you found this type of blog useful.
