What we spent in 4 days in Singapore

It’s no secret that Singapore is NOT a cheap country but we were determined to stick as close to our budget as possible. With that being said, here is our complete 4 day breakdown of exactly what we spent in Singapore.

Accommodation: $666.80

Things to consider: We stayed in one of the cheapest hotels we could find and yes it was nice and clean but it was VERY small and expensive.

Food: $315.13

Things to consider: food bills can vary a lot depending on whether you are eating at street vendors or restaurants. Meals were very similarly priced to Australia $15-$20 per meal while street vendors definitely have options under $10.

Experiences: $136.23

Things to consider: we only had 3 days in Singapore so we were out exploring every day. Typically we don’t do the ‘touristy’ things but Singapore blew us away with what they had to offer attraction wise.

Travel: $139

Things to consider: This price includes our bus from Malaysia to Singapore as we chose to take the bus across the border instead of flying. It also includes the price of bike rental. One of our favourite things about Singapore was that you could rent bicycles and ride around the city.

Shopping: $12.67

Flights: $0

Things to consider: we were coming from Malaysia so opted to catch the bus to save some money.

That brings our grand total for 4 days of holidaying in Singapore to $1269.83.This makes us $549.83 over budget but that was to be expected and that is why we make sure to keep a kitty of money to cover countries like this that are much more expensive to visit. If you’re thinking about visiting Singapore we highly recommend it and ideally if you have more than 3 days. There is still so much we want to explore but it will have to wait until next time!
